Bike Month

In case you haven’t heard, May is Bike Month. And we’ve partnered with the fine folks at I Bike Fresno for a huge bicycle-centric photostravaganza! All month long, we’ve got three bike-related challenges happening at the same time. Which means you’ve got three chances to win by submitting a photo for each of the three categories:

1. View From Your Handlebars

Fresno looks different from behind the handlebars of a bike. Show us what your handlebars see. Snap a photo with your handlebars as the picture frame, and let us see your personalized view of Fresno’s streets and bike paths. (We don’t recommend taking photos while your bike is moving. And always wear your helmet!)

2. The Path Less Traveled

Riding a bike through the city gives you a different perspective than you’d have roaring past everything in a car. You’ll encounter brand new things and see familiar places with new eyes. Take a moment to appreciate some of those places, people, and things. Then take a picture of ‘em.

3. All About Bikes

Our final challenge is a two-wheeled free-for-all. Just show us your bike. Maybe you have a super tricked-out ride or some sweet baseball cards—thp-thp-thp-thp!—in your spokes. With so many curves, lines, and shiny metals, a bike is a thing of beauty. Turn your bike into a still-life subject. Get creative, people

At the end of the month, the judges’ overall favorite will ride away with a complete I Bike Fresno prize package including a T-shirt, bike light, and water bottle. Plus, the winner will receive a complete tea set, courtesy of Little Leaf Tea (see, because biking and tea are both part of a healthy lifestyle).
