I grew up in Tehachapi, where Denny's is the only business open past 10 pm most nights (besides a gas station or two). So, for years, Denny's was where my best friends and I went to be away from our families late at night, and all conversation that required a "reclusive" environment occurred there... to the point where my best friend and I started labeling specific topics of conversation as "Denny's Talk." After I moved to Fresno, Denny's became the place I knew I could meet up with friends when I would return to Tehachapi, where the discussions could suspend time, and I could fellowship with them as though I had never left.
