life unknown

I often wonder about the life of an object or place from its origination to its future destruction. The subject that has me thinking with endless possibilities are these boots. I discovered them in an abandoned two story bar accompanied by a pair of leopard print high heels and an invitation to the 19th Annual Gun Report National Show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin of June 18-19, 1977. Even more interesting is the fact that they were randomly nailed to the ceiling for seemingly no reason... or was it?

If you were to walk where these boots have left their footprints, where would they take you? What have they witnessed? Did they see the hippie era of the 60’s, moon walk of ’69, the end of the Vietnam War in ’75 or the death of Elvis in ’77?

Who’s feet have they comforted? Why are they here? Is it a tragic story of lost soles or perhaps just a drunken night at the bar where you literally kick off your boots?

I guess we will never really know the true story behind the boots on the ceiling and the possibilities are only left to your imagination.

Where have your shoes been? What’s their story?
