My Roots

This is the story of "Jimmy" as told by my daughter. When she moved to Idaho this past June, she asked if I would like her plants, as she had no room to move them. One of which is 32 year old Jimmy, her spider plant. Here is her story:

Jim's mom told Jim to give me part of her beautiful spider plant when we were dating back in 1978. So he brought me a starter from his moms plant and I kept it planted in a pot until we moved to Montana.

On the trip there I had placed "Jimmy" on top of the car and it accidentaly had fallen off. I thought it was ruined but I had cut it all the way back. It grew back and we lived in Montana for 2 years.

I also thought I would lose him one winter when it got really cold and we had a freeze. He looked dead but when spring came I again cut him all the way back and he came to life once more!

From there I moved to Missouri for 8 months and of course Jimmy came with me. I then moved to Los Angeles, California. From there I moved to Fresno, then to Clovis. So Jimmy has been around with me for several years and many moves!

A spider plant will not only add to the beauty of your house and garden, but its air cleaning mechanism will ensure clean, pure air around you.
