Every Thanksgiving is different. For many years it's been spent with family, less so due to the miles. For us, as for many people, these last few years haven't been as plentiful as they used to be, and was spent with close friends who are almost like family. It was a very traditional dinner, with home-cooked turkey and stuffing, while we brought sweet potatoes with the marshmallow topping. Dessert took the form of pie, good music and conversation in the living room. It's during lean years like this when the true meaning of Thanksgiving really hits home.
