The eye by long use

This is my mother. Corrie Valdez. If she found this photo on the internet, she'd kill me.
But, no matter how many times I see her face reflecting in the bathroom mirror, taking her thumb and small index finger to stretch out the wrinkles in the corner of her eyes, I still find her to be beautiful.
My mother is brave. She has played the two roles and in my entire lifetime, I must have only witnessed her cry about three times. Hardly over moments when the spirit could easily find comfort in dissolution. In times of turmoil, she smiles, and knows that everything will be okay. She is my rock.
Not to mention, she's awesome for sending my broke college student ass some food and money.
I wanted to keep this photo as raw as I possibly could so that viewers could see what I see.
(Took this when I first started delving into photography at age 14. Taken with a Nikon 4004s.)
