My mom's nickname is Mommy Salami. She signs most cards with it still. A kid couldn't ask for a better mom growing up, and there isn't a day I don't thank my lucky stars for having been born her (and my Dad's) kid. But, having my son made me appreciate her even more. I truly don't think I would have survived those first weeks of motherhood (once my hubby went back to work) had she not been there by my side getting me through. Love you mom!!! This photo was taken by Holly Jones a couple years back and is of my mom, now a grandmother (we call her "Noni" in the Italian tradition) with my son, then 18 mos. old.
